A
historical view of our present premises. The building itself was erected in
1929 and soon several Faculties of the Poznan University were moved into it.
During the Second World War it was transformed into Luftwaffe Headquarters by
the German occupants, and hence bombed by Americans in 1944. In this
photograph, made by Michal Zenkteler in 1946, a group of students of the
Forestry Department clear the debris in 1946. Our laboratory in located on the
first floor right behind of the group of students and the cart. In 1975 these
rooms were adapted by Prof. Zygmunt Kaluski (1920-1993) for the Crystal Chemistry Laboratory.
